When Sharon Davies and Terry Reid began their first journey to circumnavigate the globe in the 1970’s they never dreamed that between them they would accomplish the feat more than 60 times. Over the years their travels inspired them to design and build the Davies Reid Building. Terry Reid shares, “The idea was to create a structure from the ground up that would be a home to the family we were raising as well as the base for the business we started known as Davies Reid; an accumulation of treasures collected, created and shared with others."

At every turn one sees the wonders of their efforts and inspiration in this three-story structure. An Almirah hardwood closet built into the great room carved in the tradition of the Moguls more than 200 years ago. Wooden columns from an ancient mosque in the Karakorum. Reclaimed Indonesian teak crafted into kitchen cabinets. Fir ceilings replicated in their entirety from the Swat Valley and marble sinks from an ancient Turkish bathhouse are only a small representation of the numerous centuries-old pieces Sharon Davies and Terry Reid curated from their massive collection of art from around the world.

To realize their vision the couple hired local Architect Steve Cook and master craftsman Paul Bates to finish this virtual “Palace in the Sky” in the center of Ketchum, Idaho.
